“Hey, maybe you have to take a pay cut because you’ve moved to a cheaper place to live. Maybe you have to take a less prestigious position now because you’re the default parent. But these are all temporary. And that for every temporary challenge there could be new opportunities that arise. So I think that its good to go back to the big picture. What’s important to you and what you’re doing and what you have control over to achieve your goals.” –Wenny Lin

Wenny Lin talks about career resilience when married to a doctor. She shares how to keep your career going throughout the medical journey.Wenny Lin, PhD, MPH, has crisscrossed the country a couple of times due to her spouse’s medical journey and successfully negotiated with her employers to work from home even before the pandemic made it the norm. She has worked as an epidemiologist and data scientist in academia, government, and the pharmaceutical industry. Currently, in between shuttling her preschooler to his various activities in Philadelphia, she works as a health economist at Genentech. She writes at Women in Pharma Careers.
