Integrated healthcare system Penn Highlands Healthcare (DuBois, Pa.) broke ground on a $70 million hospital and medical office building (MOB) in State College, Pa., according to an article in post-gazette.com.

The three-story, 82,000-square-foot hospital will include an emergency department (ED) with 10 private treatment rooms and a trauma room; surgical department with three operating suites and an endoscopy procedure room; 18 private inpatient rooms; medical imaging department; and pulmonary function lab for screening diagnosis and treatment.

The two-story, 32,000-square-foot MOB will be situated adjacent to the hospital and include a walk-in clinic, lung and heart centers, laboratory services, a retail pharmacy with drive-through service, and the Penn Highlands Hahne Cancer Center, which will provide infusion and radiation services.

The project is scheduled to be completed in spring 2024.
